ZentBuy Shipping: Methods, Costs and Delivery Times

The honest starting point
ZentBuy does not publish a fixed per-kilo rate table. Shipping lines and prices are quoted live in the ZentBuy Freight Estimator for your country and parcel weight. That means any blog post showing you a fixed "$ per kg" table for ZentBuy is either guessing or out of date. As of September 2026, the only current numbers are the ones the estimator gives you for your destination, your parcel weight and today's rates.
That is not a weakness. Rates change with fuel, season and carrier contracts, and a live quote is more useful than a table that was true three months ago. The agent comparison records how each agent publishes (or does not publish) its rates.
How to use the estimator
- Open the ZentBuy Freight Estimator — on the website or in the iOS/Android app
- Enter your destination country
- Enter the parcel weight — if the items are already in your warehouse, the recorded QC weights add up to the real figure; if not, estimate generously
- Enter dimensions if asked, because volumetric weight can exceed actual weight on bulky items
- Read the results: every available line with its price and delivery window
Run it twice — once with the raw weight, once after you have mentally removed shoe boxes and packaging — to see what stripping weight is worth.
What the line types mean
The names change, but almost every agent offers the same four families. The estimator tells you which exist for your country and what they cost today.
Express couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS and similar)
Character: fastest, most expensive, best tracking, lowest weight caps.
Customs: couriers clear customs formally, which means more scrutiny and a higher chance of being charged duty.
Use it for: urgent orders and small, light, high-value parcels where freight is a small share of the total.
Standard air lines
Character: the balanced default. Slower than express, much cheaper, decent tracking, moderate weight caps.
Customs: most agents offer lines tuned for specific destinations; these are what "tax-free" or "sensitive" lines usually mean in community slang. Check the line description in the estimator.
Use it for: first orders and most hauls of a few kilos.
Postal and EMS lines
Character: reliable, goes almost everywhere, handles heavier parcels, tracking can go quiet mid-journey.
Customs: postal channels are well understood by every customs authority.
Use it for: destinations where air lines are limited, larger hauls, and anywhere you value predictability over price.
Sea freight
Character: by far the cheapest per kilo, slowest by weeks, thin tracking, limited destination coverage.
Use it for: hauls over roughly 10 kg, seasonal buying done months ahead, and anything where you genuinely do not care when it lands.
Why weight is not the whole story
Three things the estimator is doing that a flat per-kilo figure would hide:
Base charge. Every parcel carries a fixed handling component. A 1 kg parcel therefore costs far more per kilo than a 5 kg parcel on the same line. Consolidation is not a marginal saving; it is the whole game.
Volumetric weight. Carriers charge on the greater of actual and volumetric weight. A puffer jacket weighs little and takes up a lot of space; vacuum packing fixes that.
Weight caps. Each line has a maximum parcel weight. Over-limit parcels get repacked or bounced to a pricier line, so a big haul sometimes ships cheaper as two parcels.

Warehouse storage is free for the first 90 days and available for up to 120 days in total, so parcels can be combined at your own pace. There is no holding cost for waiting until the haul is complete, as long as you ship inside that window.
By region
The estimator gives the price; this is the logic it cannot decide for you.
United States
Default: standard air · Customs risk: low, thanks to the $800 de minimis · Avoid: express couriers on a normal haul — more scrutiny, more cost, no benefit.
Canada
Default: standard air · Customs risk: medium · Note: the CAD 20 threshold is among the lowest anywhere, so declare carefully and keep parcels small.
United Kingdom and Europe
Default: standard air · Customs risk: medium · Note: splitting parcels is often cheaper overall once VAT thresholds are in play.
Australia
Default: postal or EMS · Customs risk: high · Note: Australian customs inspects aggressively; keep parcels small.
Cutting the bill
Strip weight before you ship. Shoe boxes removed, retail packaging discarded, tags off, clothing vacuum packed. A four-pair order loses more than a kilo this way.
Consolidate. One parcel, one base charge, better effective per-kilo rate.
Use the estimator before you buy. Knowing that a 3 kg haul to your country costs X on the standard line changes which items are worth adding.
Spend the coupon on the big parcel. A percentage off shipping scales with the shipping bill.
Ship off-peak. Avoid Chinese New Year, Singles' Day and the December rush.
Split heavy items out. One 3 kg ceramic piece can push an entire haul onto a more expensive tier.
Let non-urgent things go by sea. Sea freight is a fraction of the air price per kilo.
Safety and tracking

- Keep parcels under the line's weight cap; over-limit parcels get repacked or returned
- Avoid shipping through major Chinese holidays
- Insure anything valuable — the payout is based on the declared value
- Install the carrier's own app; it is more current than any aggregator
- Save the tracking number and the shipping receipt
- Expect silent stretches of several days; contact support after 10+ days of nothing
